Hey! I’m Tori, and I am dedicated to helping Gen-Z Black women, especially those ages 21 to 26, find the freedom to be their true selves. If you’re tired of feeling like you have to hide parts of who you are, and it’s starting to wear you down, I get it. Together, we can break down those walls and help you discover the power of setting boundaries, embracing your identity, and finding your voice.

My passion is working with women dealing with attachment issues that cause tension in relationships or who are navigating the painful effects of religious trauma, such as shame, guilt, or isolation. In our time together, you’ll learn how liberating it can be to set boundaries, voice your needs, and reclaim your sense of self. Over time, clients I work with experience less anxiety and depression, grow in their confidence, and find renewed strength in their identity as Black women. This growth often brings more ease in social situations, stronger relationships, and a positive shift in how they feel about themselves.

We’ll meet weekly in a space that’s safe and supportive, where it’s okay to let out your fears and frustrations without feeling like a burden. My approach is flexible and combines Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy—so we have a toolkit to draw from that suits your needs. Mindfulness is a big part of my work, and I often incorporate breathing exercises, meditation, and journaling to bring you back to the present moment and ground you in who you truly are.

Therapy with me is all about collaboration and growth. You’ll have at-home exercises to help you go deeper, like journaling and reflection activities, that help you gain insight, set goals, and make decisions with confidence. My goal is to support you in a way that feels empowering, helping you cultivate self-awareness, and ultimately, a stronger, truer sense of identity.

If you are ready to embrace your authentic self, and to let go of the fear of how others perceive you, contact me at Myers-Galloway Counseling in Charlotte, NC. Click here to book a FREE 15 minute phone consultation or call us at 704-750-1889.

More About Me

I am pursuing Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Catawba College. I also received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Prior to counseling, I worked with children using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.

Passionate:
I am passionate about fostering a safe environment for Black women that acknowledges and validates their experiences. My passion goes further as I want to help dismantle the stigmas surrounding mental health within the Black community.

Supportive:
I am committed to supporting Black causes that aim to address systemic inequalities and promote justice. I support initiatives that focus on educational equity, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background, have access to quality education. Additionally, I stand behind Black causes that involve actively engaging in conversations about racial injustice.

Community focused:
I support the community by shopping at local Black owned business.

Balanced:
Self-care is structured into my daily routine. For 30 minutes to an hour a day, I read, listen to music, journal, or cook a delicious meal.
