Hey there, I'm Montina.
If you’ve spent most of your life being “the strong one,” you may be wondering if it’s even safe to slow down — let alone feel.
You may have grown up supporting everyone else and never had the chance to be supported yourself. And now, as an adult, you're asking: Is it finally my turn? I’m glad you’re here.
As a Black woman and a therapist, I understand the emotional exhaustion that comes with always being responsible — for the people around you, the mood in the room, and the peace in the family. That’s why I created Myers-Galloway Counseling: a space for Black women to heal the invisible wounds of overgiving, emotional suppression, and generational pressure — and start living on their own terms.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Qualified Clinical Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and a fierce advocate for the emotional well-being of Black women who were never taught how to put themselves first.
At Myers-Galloway Counseling, I help women who feel unseen, overextended, and emotionally shut down finally reconnect with who they are — not just who they’ve had to be. We work together to untangle your experiences, build boundaries you can actually hold, and create a life that feels lighter, safer, and more like you.
If you’re ready to develop a plan that will empower you to live the life you deserve, contact me at Myers-Galloway Counseling in Charlotte, NC by calling (704) 750-1889 or click HERE to book a free 15 minute consultation.
More About Me
Passionate:
I’m especially passionate about ending the cycle of parentification and adultification — where young Black girls are forced to carry responsibilities and have biases placed on them that rob them of their childhood.
Supportive:
I help women develop emotional clarity, healthier relationships, and self-trust — without guilt or apology.
Community focused:
My passion for healing doesn’t stop at the therapy office. I’m deeply committed to creating spaces where Black women can be seen, heard, and supported in real life. From hosting local healing events to leading transformational retreats, I believe collective care is just as powerful as individual therapy. Whether it’s through workshops, panel discussions, or curated gatherings, my mission is to build community around rest, recovery, and reclaiming our stories.
Balanced:
When I’m not in session, you’ll find me exploring new recipes, walking in silence, or blasting gospel music in my car with the windows down.
